Submissions are now being accepted for the second annual Navajo Film Festival. The purpose of the Navajo Film Festival is to promote the use of the Navajo language through film. We will be holding a public screening of the best entries in the Four Corners area in late June 2019.
There will be several cash prizes (totaling $1,000) for the best films in both an adult and youth category. To be considered, entries must be no longer than 4 minutes and must be filmed entirely in the Navajo language. All genres are welcome and anyone may participate!
The deadline for submissions is 25 May 2019. Entries may be submitted through the link on our website: https://navajofilmfestival.org/submit/.
Last year’s event was a huge success. We were thrilled by quality of films screened and by the turnout at the festival itself, and we are confident this year’s program will be even better. To view some of the films shown last year, visit https://navajofilmfestival.org/sample-videos/.
